Back Light Unit


A device supplying point source LED or linear source CCFL in the form of surface illuminant on non-self-luminous LCD. It’s categorized to direct type and edge type depending on location of light source.

A direct type with light source under LCD panel has higher luminance than edge type and is easy to perform local dimming and a high-definition performance is optimal to premium TV such as 3D TV. It employs diffusion plate to evenly distribute the light.
